Señal Colombia

Señal Colombia is a national public channel, which is a member of RTVC Public Media System. Although it offers a wide and important educational and cultural content, it only obtains the 3% of the national audience.
The channel was founded in February 1970, under the name of Canal 11. Since its foundation, the purpose of the channel has been to offer an educational television for adults and children, aimed at filling cultural gaps among citizens.
In 2000, Señal Colombia underwent a process of modernization and diversification of its programming, always keeping the cultural and educational approach with which it was founded. 4 years later the government of Colombia creates the RTVC Public Media System, after the dissolution of the public entities Inravisión and Audiovisuales. This entity would enter to manage Señal Colombia, as well as Canal Institucional.
