Although it is a relatively new media, since its emergence (2012) Blu has occupied important places in the rankings of radio audience in the country. This station belongs to Caracol Televisión S.A, and means the returning of Grupo Santo Domingo to the radio, after having sold Caracol Radio to Grupo Prisa in 2003. Blu has its headquarters in Bogotá, and it is simultaneously broadcast in Barranquilla, Bogotá, Bucaramanga, Cali, Cartagena, Eje Cafetero, Medellín, Neiva, Tunja, Villavicencio and Montería. The owners of Blu Radio are also owners of Canal Caracol, El Espectador newspaper and Cromos magazine.

 

In September 2012, the first broadcast of Blu Radio in Bogotá in 96.9 Fm (leased to Melodía Estéreo) was on air.
