Canal uno

The Canal Uno was the first television channel created in Colombia and is currently the only public commercial channel. Since 2013 there has been a reactivation of Canal Uno audience, placing fourth in the national ranking of television channels.

 

Two news programs of great influence in the country’s public opinion are transmitted in the channel, due to its independent, investigative and critical nature: Noticias Uno and Noticiero CM&.

 

Canal Uno was one of the 5 mass media that answered the request of information made by the MOM Colombia Project, about ownership and management structure and economic incomes. A total of 40 mass media were consulted.

 

The private concession companies of the channel are Unión Temporal Colombiana de Televisión S.A. and Nacional de Televisión y Comunicaciones S.A. NTC S.A.; the Compañía de Medios de Información Limitada CM& Televisión; and Jorge Barón Televisión Ltda. Each one has 25% of the channel programming. Since 2013, the remaining 25%, is made by RTVC Public Media System, as national public operator, according to Resolution 1193 of 2013 of the Television National Authority.
