Las 2 Orillas is an independent digital media. Its importance lies in the possibility it offers to access sources of information different from the traditional media. As it is not an extension of a traditional media, it provides the possibility of knowing new visions and analysis of the events. Las Dos Orillas has quickly positioned itself as a reference site of information, today occupying good places in the rankings that measure the traffic of users among the Internet pages of the country

In the elections of October 2015, he was a candidate for Mayor of Medellín for the Alianza Social Independiente (ASI). In 2012, he was removed and suspended to work in public office for 12 years after a penalty of the Attorney General’s Office. This penalty was the result of an investigation conducted by the control body for Salazar’s allegations of alleged coercion by paramilitary groups and criminal bands in favor of Luis Emilio Pérez Gutiérrez (candidate for Mayor of Medellín in 2011). The penalty was revoked by the State Council after considering it disproportionate.
