Telepacífico

The Telepacífico Channel was founded on July 8, 1988, being the third regional channel after the founding of Teleantioquia and Telecaribe. It is a regional public channel, which broadcast from Cali and has as coverage area, through open television, the Colombian southwestern region that includes the Chocó, Valle del Cauca, Cauca and Nariño departments.
At a national level, it registers 2% of national audience according to the National Media Survey and can be seen through DTT and by subscription (cable or satellite). The channel has a general-interest programming. It offers different contents for different audiences, emphasizing family-content programs. Likewise, it seeks to highlight values, cultural roots and richness of the Colombian pacific through chronicles, interviews and coverage programs. It also manages news segments and children programs.
In 1988 Telepacífico arose. At the moment of its incorporation, the partner companies were INRAVISIÓN, Insitituto Financiero para el desarrollo del Valle del Cauca –INFIVALLE- and the Valle department, although the coverage area also included Chocó, Cauca and Nariño departments.
In 1992, the Telepacífico signal ceases to be exclusive for Cali (Valle del Cauca’s capital) and it expands to the northern municipalities of Valle, Popayán (Cauca’s capital) and other surrounding municipalities.
Finally in 1999, the expansion of the signal is attained, covering 99% of Valle del Cauca territory, 80% of Cauca and Nariño departments territory, and 70% of Chocó territory.
